job | cloud infrastructure (devops) engineer

Our client, a market leading Internet, Cloud and Colocation Services Provider is seeking a full time DevOps Engineer to design and develop high performance automation solutions for critical applications.

 

Location: Luxembourg

Your mission will be as follows:

  • Develop and support automation infrastructure, tools, and processes

  • Support DevOps concepts and practices by encouraging cross-functional communication, collaboration and design

  • Perform coding, testing, and maintenance on existing programs in close collaboration with other staff memebers

  • Support the implementation of automation frameworks for Linux applications and Cloud environment

  • Participate and support in team design, specification, and code reviews

  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure team to create and evolve policies, best practices, and frameworks for distributed system automation needs

  • Build and maintain tools for monitoring, notifications, and analysis

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

  • Participate in technical reviews, provide feedback on processes that work and what can be improved, to ensure we continually raise the bar

Experience and key competences

  • Must have, at minimum, a bachelor (level) degree in Computer Sciences

  • Minimum 3 years of Dev Ops experience

  • Linux system administration (configuration, installations, automation, and monitoring)

  • LAMP stack experience

  • Experience automating infrastructure and software delivery to production

  • Experience of working with VMware or other virtualised technologies

  • Familiarity with open source configuration management and deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet and Terraform

  • Using Dev-Ops tooling (e.g. Ansible, Git, Octopus, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, etc.)

  • Good all-round DevOps skills (config. management, deployment pipelines, solid scripting skills, etc.)

  • Web development knowledge in Django, JavaScript

  • Prior experience in an internet-facing technical operations role with SLA obligations

  • Good level of English (both oral and written). Any other languages are considered an asset

  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities

  • Work collaboratively across teams

  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required

  • Strength in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask

  • Persue educational opportunities to expand knowledge and improve skills through workshops, classes, seminars, training
